An informative and fascinating tour of the English Heritage, J W Evans Silver Factory was enjoyed by Members in February. Members were able to get an insight into Victorian Industrial Birmingham. Established in 1881, J W Evans is one of the most complete surviving historic factories in Birmingham Jewellery.
Members viewed the workshops and the thousands of dies for the manufacture of silverware impressed the Diecasters amongst the group. There was a separate room housing an impressive exhibition of silverware, sadly no photos allowed her for obvious reasons!!
